MUSICdise Artist Represented in Video for Vogue Magazine
Renowned Photographer Tina Barney Scores Austin Butler Video for Vogue's May Issue with Tod Lippy's "Appian Way."
NEW YORK, Apr 27, 2022 --In February, Vogue magazine commissioned renowned photographer Tina Barney to shoot actor Austin Butler (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the forthcoming Elvis) for its upcoming May issue. Lately, Tina has taken to shooting video simultaneously with her still photography. In this case, she ended up with some remarkable footage that she fashioned into a short film for Vogue to release on social media in conjunction with the May issue spread.

Best known for her large-scale color portraits of family and friends in New York and New England, Tina personally handpicked the music to synchronize to the film - a single from Tod Lippy's 2021 sophomore release, YEARBOOK, titled "Appian Way." She said, "the visuals fit the music so perfectly, and using the song as an organizing element made it so much easier to create a narrative for the footage."
Tod Lippy, who has worked with Tina before, said, "I was thrilled that Tina wanted to use 'Appian Way.' I am honored to be a part of this beautiful project." So is Philip Warbasse, who serves as Tod Lippy's licensing agent at Los Angeles-based music marketing agency MUSICdise. Warbasse, who negotiated the sync deal, explains, "Tod's strong relationship with Tina helped facilitate this deal more than anything that I did. My goal was to negotiate an agreement that was fair for everyone. I was honored to represent Tod and look forward to working together on many more projects in the future."
